Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? Feel free to contact us using the form above for any of your concerns, but before you do take a look and see if you can find your answer in our FAQ.

Q: Why can't I arrange things with creditors by myself?

A: The reason many people choose to use the services of debt consolidation professionals is because it can often be very difficult for them to get in contact with the people who have the authority to restructure your debt. Generally, the person who calls you asking for money, or the person who answers their phone when you phone the call center isn't allowed to negotiate with you. Getting in touch with someone who is can be quite a challenge. Our debt counselors are experienced in getting past that first port of contact and speaking to the people who do have the authority to reschedule your debt. They appreciate the fact that we are experts in debt management and are happy to negotiate with us.

Q: How much do you charge for your services? Can I afford them?

A: Absolutely, of course you can. Our primary goal is to see that you can clear your debts, that's our first and foremost concern. For this reason, we don't charge any fees upfront. What's more, our fees are kept to an absolute minimum, and will only be charged once your debt payments have been rescheduled and you are paying significantly less each month than you are now. Because of the way we operate, you'll easily be able to afford our minimal fees.

Q: How will my credit rating be affected if I sign up with you?

A: While the fact you have used debt counseling services might show up on your credit report, this could actually be a positive thing because it shows that you are responsible enough to seek help when you cannot afford your debt repayments each month. For those who already have a poor credit rating, then using a debt counseling service can only be a good thing. One of the good things about debt consolidation is that once you renegotiate your monthly payments and start paying these off regularly, your credit score will instantly reflect this by showing a marked improvement.

Q: I am thinking of using your services. Should I keep paying off my debts while you are negotiating with debtors on my behalf?

A: It is advisable to do so, or at least pay as much as you can. It may take up to 30 days to get your debt solution plan finalized and official, and anything you can pay off during this period can only be a good thing.

Q: Can I pay more than the agreed amount each month, in order to get out of debt faster?

A: Of course. We are here to get you out of debt, and if you think you can afford to pay a little extra towards your debt on occasion, we will gladly help you. Simply let us know how much extra you wish to pay off, and we will decide which creditor it should go to based on your debt free goals.

Q: Will my creditors still be chasing me?

A: Although your creditors are obligated to inform debt collection agencies working on their behalf that suitable arrangements have been made, sometimes this isn't done straight away, or for whatever reason the message fails to get through. Should you receive any communications from a third party debt collection agency, you should forward them to us and one of our representatives will take care of them for you.
